Despite their name, flushable wipes are not a safe alternative to toilet paper! Unlike toilet paper, which typically dissolves within 24 hours, disposable wipes can linger in your home’s pipes. Over time, these wipes can build up and cause costly plumbing damage. Even flushable or biodegradable wipes take time to decompose.
If you prefer wipes over toilet paper, be sure to dispose of them properly in the trash. Don’t forget: feminine products, diapers, paper towels, cotton balls, dental floss, and other disposables all belong in the waste bin.
