Your water meter is a great tool for determining whether you have a leak, and you can check it whenever you want and as frequently as you want. Your meter box is usually flat in the ground near your driveway and close to the street. It isn’t locked; you can just use a long screw driver in the hole to remove the lid. Use a rag to wipe the face of the meter and look for the leak indicator, which is often a small triangle on the face which indicates if there’s low flow through the meter.
