NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH: GET PREPARED!

September is National Preparedness Month. It’s a great reminder to review your family’s emergency plan. Here are a few helpful tips you can use to bolster your emergency preparedness efforts:
Store two weeks of water. FEMA recommends one gallon per person per day, including pets, in case an emergency disrupts water service.
Create defensible space. Remove dead plants, dry brush, and excess vegetation around your home to create a fire-resistant perimeter.
Find your home’s water shut-off valve. Locate your home’s main water shut-off valve. After an earthquake or a broken pipe, it is important to shut off the water quickly.
