COOLER FALL WEATHER MEANS IT’S TIME TO REDUCE OUTDOOR WATERING!

With shorter days and cooler nights, outdoor plants require less water in the fall than they do in the summer. This seasonal change means less water is lost to the atmosphere through evapotranspiration (ET), making outdoor water budgets smaller.

Here are simple ways to help you meet outdoor
watering needs — and save yourself money!

PROTECTING THE INFRASTRUCTURE THAT HELPS DELIVER WATER TO YOU

What’s a valve and why do they need to be replaced? A valve is a critical piece of equipment that helps support the delivery of water. As part of our ongoing valve replacement program, we identify and replace key valves throughout the distribution system to improve water reliability and protect the infrastructure that delivers water and recycled water to our customers. The District has approximately 21,800 valves throughout our service area that are primarily used to isolate sections of pipe in the event of planned or emergency repairs and connections. We maintain our infrastructure and make necessary improvements to keep our system efficient and cost-effective.
