Historic Action on Regional Water Reliability: The California WaterFix

On April 10, 2018, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors, the region’s wholesale water provider, voted to provide additional financing necessary to allow for the construction of the full California WaterFix project. The CA WaterFix, a project to modernize the state’s aging infrastructure, will improve water supply reliability throughout the State, retrofit water supplies against earthquakes, and expand water storage capacity during future droughts.

Earlier this year, our Board of Directors facilitated a panel discussion on the CA WaterFix as part of its ongoing efforts to educate the public about statewide water issues. The District’s Board of Directors approved a resolution in support of the CA WaterFix in March 2017. Read more about the Moulton Niguel community forum at www.mnwd.com/newsroom.
