2022 YEAR IN REVIEW

We’re proud of all that we’ve accomplished with the support of our customers in 2022.

From enhanced customer service to major investments in our critical water infrastructure, 2022 represented a year of new milestones and remarkable achievements for Moulton Niguel Water District.

We’re committed to our customers, who help strengthen and inform every aspect of our operations. Over the past year, we answered roughly 98,000 customer service calls, attended countless community events, and educated more than 2,700 students through our water education and drought awareness programs.

Taking advantage of our new Smart Meter Technology, Moulton Niguel launched a new systemwide Leak Alert program, which is helping customers quickly identify potential leaks in their homes and gardens.

We also continue to manage one of the most successful turf replacement programs in Orange County. In partnership with our customers, Moulton Niguel has removed more than 6 million square feet of turf, saving more than 265 million gallons of water every year.

Below, you’ll find other major accomplishments.

Wastewater Services

Moulton Niguel is honored to provide you with safe, reliable water services at the lowest rates in South Orange County.

  • 7.8 billion gallons of drinking water served.
  • Over 12,000 water quality tests ensuring water is safe and clean.
More than 3.5 billion gallons of wastewater were treated in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Nearly 2.5 billion gallons of recycled water were produced for irrigation use, offsetting precious drinking water.
  • 25% of our total water demand is met by water we recycle locally.
  • Moulton Niguel resumed operating its Advanced Water Treatment (AWT) Plant that produces recycled water for customers. As Moulton Niguel is evaluating the expansion of the recycled water system to include potable reuse, the operation of the AWT will help ensure Moulton Niguel is producing high-quality water.
