California-Friendly Plant: African Daisy

African DaisyNothing says springtime quite like a garden full of colorful daisies, and this month’s California-Friendly plant is the perfect addition to your water-wise landscape. Daisies are common throughout Southern California, but they unfortunately require lots of water. African Daisies, though, provide the same pop of color with only limited watering.

African Daisies bloom white, yellow, orange, pink and red flowers during the spring and early summer. They also serve as an excellent drought-tolerant evergreen groundcover the remainder of the year. Plant in welldrained soil that receives regular sun and your spring garden will be the envy of the neighborhood in no time.
